Trompe L’Oeil Catalogue In every house, however large or small, there is always a dark space or a blank wall where a few strokes of a paintbrush can bring a gleam of sunshine and a smile. A part of your home just waiting to be “happied up”, to be given a new dimension. Do you feel a little cramped in your present quarters? I can give you a doorway leading to a majestic suite of rooms. Are you tired of looking at the house across the way? Why not have a window opening onto an incomparable panorama? Or simply onto a view you would like to remember? In sixteen years of work I have executed a wide range of commissions, from classic views of the Tuscan countryside to children’s rooms painted with anything from festive circuses to an underwater world of rocks and starfish. The subject is limited only by the imagination. I work on location in Tuscany and throughout Italy, and have carried out a number of projects in England too. Clients often choose to have their trompe l’oeil painted on transportable panels cut to the desired shape and size. These can be sent anywhere in the world and, of course, moved around the house whenever you feel like a change of scene. Below you will find some samples of work I have done for clients of L’INGANNO. If you like you can give me just a rough outline of your requirements, and it is then up to me to provide projects for you to choose from. Or else you can send me photographs of places or things of special interest or meaning for you, and I can either reproduce them as they are or weave them into a larger project, giving them a different and perhaps unusual context. Or if you have a photo of a view you grew fond of during a Tuscan holiday, you can go on looking at it through a window in your sitting room wall. This painting of Florence is not strictly faithful to reality. The client wanted to make sure that certain buildings were within the picture so I "juggled" them a little to make sure they fit. The stones of the two pillars were painted to look as close as possible to the stones he has round his fireplace in the same room.
